Acceptable Use Policy
Version 2026-05-10
Effective date: May 10, 2026 Version: 2026-05-10
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service between you and Axevia Labs LLC (d/b/a QuillAI). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
You agree to use the Service only as described in this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account under Section 8 of the Terms, with no refund for prepaid fees.
1. Prohibited content
You will not submit to the Service, or use the Service to record, transcribe, structure, or distribute, any content that:
- infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights, including copyright, trademark, trade-secret, patent, or moral rights;
- violates a third party's right of privacy or publicity, including by capturing or sharing recordings of any person without that person's consent (see Section 2);
- contains malicious code, including viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data;
- depicts or facilitates child sexual abuse material ("CSAM"), bestiality, or non-consensual intimate imagery — accounts found to contain such material will be terminated immediately and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or other competent authorities as required by law;
- contains content that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates terrorism, mass violence, or genocide;
- contains content that promotes self-harm or suicide;
- contains content that infringes export-control laws (including ITAR and EAR-controlled technical data) or other applicable trade-control laws;
- is generated for the purpose of fraudulent impersonation, including impersonation of public officials, executives of legitimate companies, or specific private individuals for the purpose of defrauding others.
2. Recording-consent obligations
You will not use the Service to record, monitor, or transcribe any conversation, meeting, call, or audio that includes any person other than yourself unless you have first obtained that person's informed and verifiable consent.
This applies regardless of whether you believe one-party consent is sufficient under your local law. The Service is used in many jurisdictions, several of which require all-party consent (see Section 5 of the Terms of Service for examples). When in doubt, get explicit consent.
You will not use any feature of the Service to circumvent your obligation to disclose recording — for example, by suppressing meeting-bot indicators, by recording audio routed through hidden virtual devices, or by using third-party tools to remove our notification UI.
3. Anti-abuse — accounts, quotas, and infrastructure
You will not:
- create more than one personal account;
- create accounts in bulk, programmatically, or with the assistance of automated tools;
- create accounts using disposable, randomly generated, or fictitious email addresses for the purpose of evading limits;
- use multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits, trial restrictions, paid-plan quotas, or account-level rate limits;
- transfer, sell, or trade an account;
- share account credentials with third parties (for shared use, contact us about team plans);
- access the Service through automated means other than the official QuillAI public APIs (when available) and in accordance with the API documentation.
4. URL-based imports (User-as-Uploader)
The Service may permit you to import audio or video content by providing a URL (for example, to a publicly available YouTube video). When you do so, you are the party causing the content to be downloaded and processed. You will:
- import only content for which you have rights as described in Section 4.4 of the Terms (own / licensed / public domain / fair use);
- not use the Service to systematically download, transcribe, or repackage copyrighted works for commercial republishing or aggregation;
- not exceed ten (10) hours of imported content per twenty-four (24)-hour period per account. Excess imports may be blocked automatically;
- comply with the source platform's terms of service to the extent applicable to your use of the imported content.
QuillAI complies with the procedure described at /en/legal/dmca for receiving and acting on copyright complaints under 17 U.S.C. § 512. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
5. Prohibited technical activity
You will not:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code or trade secrets from the Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this prohibition;
- benchmark or evaluate the Service for the purpose of building or assisting any party to build a competing service;
- bypass or attempt to bypass any access-control, authentication, rate-limit, or quota mechanism;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system except through a security-disclosure program we explicitly publish;
- use the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure (excessive concurrent requests, abnormally large uploads outside the normal range of human use, etc.);
- modify or distribute the QuillAI Desktop application other than as expressly permitted by its license;
- use the Service to develop or train any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model based on the Service's outputs, behavior, or interface without our prior written consent.
6. Security disclosure
If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, do not exploit it or share it publicly before notifying us. Send a private report to [email protected]. We will acknowledge legitimate reports promptly, investigate, and notify you of resolution. We do not currently operate a paid bug-bounty program but may do so in the future.
7. Reporting violations
If you believe another user is violating this AUP, the Terms of Service, or applicable law, please report it to [email protected]. We investigate good-faith reports and take action where warranted.
8. Consequences of violation
We may, at our discretion, take any of the following actions for AUP violations:
- request that you remove offending content;
- restrict access to specific Service features;
- suspend your account temporarily;
- terminate your account permanently;
- retain prepaid fees as liquidated damages where the violation is material (consistent with Section 8.3 of the Terms regarding consumer-protection minima);
- preserve and disclose information to law-enforcement or other authorities as required by law.
We may take any of these actions with or without prior notice and with or without explanation, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires more.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through in-product messaging or email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated AUP constitutes acceptance.
