About the author

Timofey Zaytsev

founder and developer of QuillHub

Founder of QuillHub. I build the transcription service — the website, the desktop app, the API — and write about how it works in the blog.

Why I built it

There are more recordings than time to listen to them: calls, interviews, lectures, voice messages. Transcription services either put a bot into the meeting that every participant can see, or charge for that as a separate product, and after the transcript leave you alone with a wall of text.

QuillHub is what I built instead. A file or a link becomes text with speakers and timestamps, a call is recorded straight from the computer with no bot, and on top of the transcript you get a summary, an email, a digest and answers to questions about the recording. One service instead of a voice recorder, a transcriber and a notebook.

What I do

I build QuillHub myself and lead the team that helps: the web app, the desktop client for macOS and Windows, the public API and MCP server that deliver transcripts into other applications and AI assistants, the Telegram bot. Building with AI tooling is what I do professionally, and QuillHub is the largest of my products.

Legally the service runs through two companies: a sole proprietorship in Saint Petersburg, registered in 2024, for users in Russia, and Axevia Labs LLC (USA, since 2025) for the rest of the world. Details of both are on the contact page.

What I write about

Speech recognition and how to use it: speaker separation, accuracy across languages, transcribing calls and interviews, meeting notes, working with text through language models. I am responsible for what is written in the QuillHub blog — the topics, the facts and how the product is described.

What the service knows about you

Only what you uploaded — and that is encrypted, never used to train models and deleted on your request. Doctor's appointments and legal consultations go through QuillHub, so the rules are written out plainly: Security and data.

If something is not working

Write through the support form or from the app — the reply lands in the chat. Product ideas go there too: the desktop app and half of the features came from what users asked for.
